The Tegelberg is a mountain massif near Schwangau in the Ammergau Alps. The cable car takes you to over 1,700 vertical meters. With the summer toboggan goes over 760 m  down into the valley. The Bridge Marienbrücke (Mary's Bridge) over the Pöllat Gorge in the municipality of Schwangau near Füssen offers a breathtaking view of Neuschwanstein Castle and a great photo opportunity. The bridge was named after Queen Marie. It is not possible to visit the Marienbrücke in winter.

On the longest summer toboggan run of the Alpspitz cable car in the Allgäu, single or double seats are ridden, so that smaller children from the age of 3 years can enjoy tobogganing together with an adult. Enjoy the hike through a picturesque moor landscape & the view of the Berger Moos from the lookout tower. Berger Moosrunde - approx. 2.5 km round trip or approx. 7 km on the big round. Start: Parking V-market Pfronten Meilingen. The other access is from Pfrontener Ried station, there is a parking lot nearby.

Tips for rainy days: Even when there is no sunshine, Pfronten in the Ostallgäu offers many opportunities for you and your family. Visit the Glassworks Endres, which  is only 950 meters from Hotel Bergpanorama away. 

The Sturmanns cave (Sturmannshöhle) is the only walk-in show cave in the Allgäu in Bavaria. The lake Schwansee lies at the foot of the Hohenschwangau Castle. The Schwansee in the Ostallgäu freezes in winter fast, here you can ice-skate, play ice hockey and curling. The lake is located in a nature reserve between Alterschrofen and Hohenschwangau and is best reached by bicycle. Distance from the hotel Bergpanorama Pfronten ist about 17 km.


The water masses of the Lech - fed from the Alps - fall twelve meters over five levels into the depths of a narrow Lech gorge. The geotope Lechfall near Füssen is one of the 100 most beautiful geotopes in Bavaria. The Lechfall is not only a natural monument and tourist attraction, it is used to generate electricity in the Bavarian Alps and is therefore also considered an industrial monument.

Großer Alpsee is a mountain lake in the Allgäu. It lies in Immenstadt in Bavaria. The Großer Alpsee is the largest natural lake in the Allgäu. The Großer Alpsee is popular for biking, sailing, surfing and kiting. (Distance from the Hotel Bergpanorama approx. 35 km)

The Reichenbach gorge with its waterfalls and viewpoints is a wildly romantic, little-lived gorge near Pfronten in the Allgäu. A trip through this gorge can be combined with a mountain hike on the Aggenstein and the Breitenberg. The starting point is the valley station of the Breitenbergbahn in Pfronten-Steinach. Hohenschwangau Castle - a jewel of German Romanticism - was built in the 12th century by the Knights of Schwangau. Visit the family home and the summer home of King Ludwig II of Bavaria. (about 17 km away from the Hotel Bergpanorama). Read more about it here.

After 5 years the Pöllat Gorge in Schwangau is open again! It is considered the most romantic way to Neuschwanstein Castle. The Mary's bridge offers a breathtaking view of the Pöllat Gorge. Directly below there is the Pöllat waterfall with a drop of 30 m. Read more about it here.

Today Neuschwanstein is one of the most popular of all the palaces and castles in Europe. Every year 1.4 million people visit "the castle of the fairy-tale king". For many people, it is a "landmark of Germany" and the "eighth wonder of the world". The Catholic parish church of St. Nicholas in Pfronten was built in Baroque style in the years 1687 - 1692. Every Friday Mass at 7 pm; every Saturday eve fair at 10.00 o'clock. Church tours are available on request (08363 288). 

The fifth largest lake in Bavaria is located in Königswinkel in the Ostallgäu. The artificial lake near Pfronten attracts in summer with its numerous free beaches and fantastic mountain panorama. Here you can go surfing, sailing, rowing, pedal boating, fishing, hiking and cycling around the lake. (about 18 km from the Hotel Bergpanorama away).

The gondola lift and the chairlift take you to the high-altitude ski area on the Breitenberg. There, a 6.5 km long natural toboggan run awaits you. (It is about 7 km away from the Hotel Bergpanorama). View a short VIDEO on the topic.



The ruin of a medieval castle on the 1055 m high foothill Isenberch in the Tannheimer mountains. Afterwards, you can fortify yourself in the alp Schlossbergalm with drinks and snacks. (about 5 km away from the Hotel Bergpanorama)

The gorge Starzlach (Starzlachklamm) near Sonthofen is not as commercial as the Breitachklamm, very natural, wild and romantic. Approximately 40 minutes by car from Hotel Bergpanorama away. The Starzlachklamm is open for tourists from the 1st of May to the 31st of October. Read more about it here.

The Chapel St. Johannes Evangelist in Röfleuten was built around 1710. The chapel is richly decorated and worth a visit. The Patrozinium will be celebrated on the 27th of December. Heimathaus in Pfronten-Berg is an old stile construction, a wooden structure that has been widely used in Southern Germany since the 15th century. Opening hours all year: Monday 14.00 - 17.00; in the summer season (July - Sept.) also on Thursdays 16.00 to 18.00. (Distance from the hotel Bergpanorama about 1.5 km)

The cable car and chair lift Alpspitzbahn in Nesselwang takes you to the 1500 m high mountain Alpspitz - an ideal starting point for long hikes in summer or skiing in winter. The longest summer toboggan run in the Allgäu rounds off the mountain experience at the Alpsitze. The Aggenstein is a 1,986-meter high mountain in the Allgäu Alps on the border of Germany and Austria. It is located in the Bavarian part of the Tannheimer mountains a few kilometers south of Pfronten in the Ostallgäu. Hiking tip: From the Breitenbergbahn, cross the Reichenbach Gorge to the Bad Kissinger Hütte. Then climb to Aggenstein.



The origins of the city Füssen in Ostallgäu dates back to Roman times. Especially worth seeing is the High Castle. The Neuschwanstein Castle and the Hohenschwangau Castle are located southeast of the city (about 15 km away from the Hotel Bergpanorama).

The "Highline 179" carries the title as the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in the world in the Tibet Style. It is over 400 meters long. It connects the Fort Claudia with the ruin Ehrenberg. The bridge has a max. eight of 114 m. From the Hotel Bergpanorama, you need 0,5 hours by car. Read more about it here.

The pilgrimage church of St. Coloman stands at the foot of the Schwangauer mountains near the Neuschwanstein Castle. The world-famous castle of the fairy tale king Ludwig II can be seen in the background. The rich decoration and the large high altar in the interior of Colomanskirche are impressive.

The late mediaeval castle was abandoned during the Thirty Years’ War and set on fire. From 1995 to 2006 the former aristocratic seat was made safe and conserved. (It is approx. 6 km away from the hotel)
